GEICO ESPN High School Kickoff 2023: Future Football Stars

Get ready for an exciting return of the GEICO ESPN High School Kickoff 2023, now in its 14th year! From Friday, August 18th to Sunday, August 27th, you’re in for a thrilling ride as 54 ESPN 300 and ESPN Junior 300 ranked players battle it out in seven epic games.

You can catch all the action on ESPN, ESPN2, and the ESPN App. And if you’re a fan of college football, watch out for 32 athletes who’ve already committed to top-tier Division I programs, including those at Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and many more.

Here’s your must-watch schedule (All times are ET):

1. Friday, August 18th, 6 p.m.: Langston Hughes (Ga.) at Carrollton (Ga.)
   • Tune in for an intense match between Georgia’s reigning 6A state champion, Langston Hughes, and last season’s state finalist, Carrollton.
   • Key players include Ohio State commit Air Noland from Langston Hughes and Carrollton’s promising sophomore QB Julian Lewis.
2. Friday, August 25th, 8 p.m.: Lipscomb Academy (Tenn.) at Saraland (Ala.)
   • Last season’s Tennessee Class II-AAA state title holder Lipscomb Academy takes on Alabama’s 6A state champion, Saraland.
   • Look out for Lipscomb’s senior Kaleb Beasley and Saraland’s top-ranked WR in the class of 2025, Ryan Williams.
3. Saturday, August 26th, Noon: St. Frances (Md.) vs. Chaminade-Madonna (Fla.)
   • A match between the powerhouses – St. Frances, with seven ESPN ranked players, and Chaminade-Madonna, boasting six ESPN ranked players.
   • Key players include Oregon commits Michael Van Buren and Ify Obidegwu from St. Frances and Ohio State commit Jeremiah Smith from Chaminade-Madonna.
4. Saturday, August 26th, 4 p.m.: St. John Bosco (Calif.) at St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.)
   • Last year’s No.1 ranked team, St. John Bosco, goes up against a consistently top-ten ranked team, St. Thomas Aquinas.
   • Players to watch include USC commit Marcelles Williams from St. John Bosco and Miami commit Chance Robinson from St. Thomas Aquinas.
5. Saturday, August 26th, 7 p.m.: IMG Academy (Fla.) vs. St. Joseph’s Prep (Pa.)
   • With 15 ESPN ranked players, IMG Academy faces off against last year’s state title winner, St. Joseph’s Prep.
   • Top players include Georgia commit Ellis Robinson IV from IMG and Cincinnati commit Samaj Jones from St. Joseph’s Prep.
6. Saturday, August 26th, 10 p.m.: Mater Dei Catholic (Calif.) at Carlsbad (Calif.)
   • A rematch between Carlsbad, featuring Alabama commit Julian Sayin, and Mater Dei Catholic, winners of last year’s CIF-San Diego Section title.
   • Last year’s game was a nail-biter, with Carlsbad winning by just one point, 36-35.
7. Sunday, August 27th, 1 p.m.: Our Lady of Good Counsel (Md.) vs. St. Edward (Ohio)
   • Maryland’s traditional powerhouse Good Counsel faces off against Ohio’s back-to-back Div. 1 state champion, St. Edward.
   • Keep an eye on Florida commit Aaron Chiles from Good Counsel and Michigan commit Ben Roebuck from St. Edward.
