Paris Ford, a former University of Pittsburgh football star and Pennsylvania high school All-American, is currently wanted by Allegheny County authorities in connection with a shooting incident, according to Pittsburgh Sports Now.
The site reported on Tuesday that police are actively searching for Ford, who has a warrant out for his arrest. He faces charges including two counts of aggravated assault, one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, and one count of recklessly endangering another person.
The incident occurred on March 15 in Clairton, as reported by Pittsburgh Sports Now. Police received a call at 11:40 a.m. about shots fired and were informed at the scene that a black Nissan Rogue carrying three males was seen leaving the area. The Nissan was later spotted by police, leading to a high-speed chase that ended with three men fleeing from the vehicle on foot.
Two of the men were arrested, while the third, allegedly Ford, managed to escape. Footage appears to show Ford exiting the vehicle “carrying a black semi-automatic pistol,” according to the site. A pistol found at the scene was reportedly registered to Ex-Pitt Star Paris Ford. After the men exited the vehicle, the Nissan took off again before crashing. Police found a prescription bottle inside the vehicle with Ford’s name on it.
Ex-Pitt Star Paris Ford was an All-State player during his senior season at Steel Valley and was named an Under Armour All-American. He signed with Pitt in the Class of 2016 and entered the NFL Draft following the 2020 season. Although he went undrafted, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams as a free agent in 2021. In the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Ford played with the USFL’s New Jersey Generals.
