Excitement is in the air as Texas high school football teams gear up for the fast-paced 7-on-7 tournament that’s set to take place at Veterans Park in College Station from June 22 to 24. The event’s organizers announced the lineup of participating teams this Sunday, which includes an impressive array of Central Texas teams. The tournament splits into three divisions: 6A and 5A schools, along with SPC and TAPPS Division I teams compose Division I. Division II consists of 3AD1 and 4A teams, and the remaining private schools. Division III comprises 3AD2-1A teams.
Among the competitors in the Division I tournament are some big names: Westlake, Lake Travis, and Dripping Springs, all of which will start their journey on June 23. Other teams from Weiss, San Marcos, Round Rock, Westwood, Vista Ridge, and Buda Johnson are also participating. Fans can expect some intense initial matchups. Other games to watch include Weiss against Odessa, San Marcos battling Keller Timber Creek, Round Rock versus Bryan Rudder, Vista Ridge against Fort Bend Hightower, and Westwood clashing with San Antonio Johnson. Buda Johnson’s first match is against Cy Creek.
For Division II, the Taylor Ducks are ready to begin their tournament against Panther Creek at 1:45 p.m. on June 22. In Division III, Lexington will start their challenge at 1 p.m. against Stamford.
